I'm your biggest fan, I'll follow you until you love me. Paparazzi.
Alright, let me give you a bit of background information about the paparazzi. In 1960, there was a film titled "La Dolce Vita" which was directed by Federico Fellini. In the film, there was a character by the name of Paparazzo who was a photographer. The word paparazzo comes from an Italian dialect meaning an annoying noise, like the buzzing of an insect. Fellini understood the annoyance of press photographers and he named the character after the irritating buzzing of insects. Little did he know that a name of a character would stick and be known world wide as a term for bothersome photographers.
Now the question is, do you feel like the paparazzi are violating the privacy rights of the celebrities? After all, they are just citizens like the rest of us and they deserve to have some sort of privacy.
I believe that there is need for legislation to be passed in order to protect the rights of the celebrities. I mean how would you like it if you were constantly stalked and hounded by the paparazzi? How would you like your everyday lives to be exposed to the whole world?
Sure the paparazzi quench our thirst of curiosity for celebrity gossip, but is getting that information really worth endangering the lives of these celebrities? I think not. Having paparazzi around is dangerous for the celebrities and the paparazzi themselves. Is getting a photo of a celebrity really important enough to put everyone's lives in danger?
I have high hopes for this blog. I intend to inform you all about the mistreatment of the paparazzi. In a starstruck world, people will do anything to get a quick snapshot. It's time for the boundaries to be set. It's time for legal action to be taken. It's time for celebrities to be protected and for them to feel safe.
Thanks for reading.
